Andy's Life-Changing 6-and-a-half Stone Loss
Name: Andy
Age: 36
Start weight: 263lbs
End/Current weight: 170lbs
1 – Tell me about your previous dieting attempts
From my early teens onwards, I was overweight, lost a fair bit in my early 20s to pass medicals for going offshore and stayed that way until I started to rise through the ranks.
The physical work got less and less. This, combined with stopping playing rugby and settling into married life so that offshore medicals started to become an issue, and I would crash diet (Atkins, Fast 800, meal replacement) for a month or so before my medical, pass it, and then go back to old habits.
2 – What was it you hoped Munro would do for you?
I hoped the Munro method would help me lose weight, live a healthier lifestyle, and give me the tools and knowledge to keep my weight the same, so there was no need to crash diet for medicals.
3 – How did you hear about Munro?
My sister & brother-in-law Angela and Ewan recommended you, and I saw the results they had both achieved.
4 – What made us stand out from everything else out there?
As I said above, knowing two people that had used Munro and had made fantastic progress in relatively short periods let me know that the process worked and that the people behind it knew what they were talking about.
I also liked the community aspect of it, with all members sharing hints and tips.
5 – What made you bite the bullet and sign up to work with us?
My offshore survival refresher made me realise how bad a shape I was in. I couldn’t pull myself into a lifeboat in a nice calm swimming pool, so I realised I would have no chance in a real-life situation, and drastic actions were needed.
Also, I wanted to be fitter and healthier to play with my son.
6 – What made you happiest about being a Clan member?
I liked the check-ins; I knew I was doing well, but it was nice to get that fortnightly confirmation from the coaches to let me know I was doing everything right and on the right track.
7 – What have you achieved as a Clan-member?
I’m back playing rugby (over 35’s) and loving it. I’ve been able to get out on my bike and cycle over 30 miles, ran a 10k in the gym offshore, and climbed a Munro, which I had done before, but this time was far, FAR easier!
I’m more organised around meals, especially tea, which was always a case of the wife and I asking each other what we fancied at 6 pm and then getting a takeaway.
Also, just learning all about nutrition and what my body needs and how to fuel my body properly.
8 – Why would you recommend us to others?
The results that I have achieved in a relatively short period speak for themselves, along with the support from the coaches and the other clan members.
9 – Was there anything about Munro that surprised you the most?
The amount of support from other clan members; it’s great to see other people going through the same as you are willing and giving so much help to others.
10 – What would you tell someone thinking about joining us?
Do it; you won’t regret it!
This is unlike anything else you’ve ever tried before.
It’s designed to help you for the rest of your life instead of turning you into a dieter your whole life.
11 – How confident are you that you can now take everything you’ve learned and go on to maintain your results?
I’m completely confident ill be able to maintain it. I’ve got to grips with losing weight fast. Within a couple of weeks, I’ll be into my new maintenance routine, which will be the same as before but have more freedom.
12 – Is there anything else you’d like to say about your time with us?
Just thanks very much for what you’ve done for me. I knew I could lose weight but never thought it would be to the extent I have!
It shows that your method works, and once you’ve got your head around the reading at the start, it’s pretty straightforward to follow.
